Co-Lin's Pepper named MACJC Coach of the Year

Co-Lin women's tennis coach Holli Pepper has been named MACJC Coach to the Year.  Pepper has been the coach of the Lady Wolves for seven years.

Woman's body found in Hazlehurst motel room

HAZLEHURST, MS (WLBT)- Motel housekeeping made a horrifying discovery inside a room in Copiah county Saturday morning.

A woman's body was found at the Hill Top Motel on Highway 51 in Hazlehurst.

Copiah County Coroner Ellis Stuart identified the victim as 32 year old Kayti Lynn Dillon of Hazlehurst.

Dillon was pronounced dead around 10:30 Saturday morning.

She had been staying in the room for a few days.

Coroner Stuart estimated that she may have been murdered sometime Friday night.

He would not say how she was killed.

Woman found murdered in motel room

HAZLEHURST, MS (WLBT)- A Copiah County woman was found dead inside a motel room Saturday launching the latest homicide investigation for law officers.

Her body was found inside at the Hill Top Motel on Highway 51 in Hazlehurst.

Copiah County Coroner Ellis Stuart identified the victim as 32-year-old Kayti Lynn Dillon of Hazlehurst.

Motel housekeeping discovered Dillon's body.

She was pronounced dead around 10:30 Saturday morning.

Dillon had been staying in the room for a few days.

Reward now $10,000 for info in Copiah missing investigation

The reward for helping to locate Linda Gale Reed is now $10,000.

The 65 year-old woman was last heard from Sunday evening when she spoke with her husband on the phone about 9 p.m. according to family members. 

Reed's vehicle was found Monday in a wooded area just off I-55 in Gallman.

Reed's family says she doesn't have any mental health issues and wouldn't have wondered away.

Volunteers who would like to help search for Reed are asked to meet at the Copiah County Fairgrounds.

Copiah sheriff requests FBI help in missing woman case

COPIAH COUNTY, MS (WLBT)- Family members of Linda Gale Reed hope a $7,000 reward will lead to information in her disappearance.

"Just call the police, 911, just get a hold of somebody. Just please," pleads husband James "Lou" Reed.

"She's a strong woman and real religious woman, and we're all praying for her safe return and I know she'll be ok," says son Chris Sessums.

Crystal Springs Youth Council to host anti-bullying march and rally

The Crystal Springs Mayor’s Youth Council along with the CS High School Student Council and the Crystal Springs Elementary School Ambassadors are hosting a  Anti-Bullying: March and Rally May 19.

This event will begin at 9:30am in the front lawn of the Crystal Springs High School (201 Newton St.). Then students will lead a march from the high school to Railroad Park where the Rally begins.

Body found in rural Copiah County

COPIAH COUNTY, MS (WLBT) - A body was found early Tuesday morning in rural Copiah County.

According to Sheriff Harold Jones the body of 48-year-old Kevin Shaw had been run over by a vehicle on Barlow Road west of Hazlehurst.

The victim was found 6.7 miles north of Highway 28 on Barlow Road. The area is about 13 miles from Hazlehurst.

Jones said there was no missing person report filed with his department. An autopsy has been ordered.
